Stephanie Webb is a CBT Therapist who is BABCP Accredited and has nearly 10 years’ experience working in mental health with different client groups in a range of different settings.
I became a CBT Therapist because I am passionate about working with people who have experienced trauma and difficulties in their lives. I have always found it a privilege to take the time with my clients to collaboratively work together to answer how they can move forward from their current situation, and how they can deal with whatever hand life has dealt them. The most rewarding part of my work is helping people move towards recovery to enable them to feel happier and more fulfilled in their lives.
Throughout my time working in mental health I have learned that individuals often adapt to their surroundings and this can be particularly difficult if the individual is surrounded by negative life experiences. My aim is to work together with the individual to teach them tools and strategies to deal with all aspects of life and through this process the individual learns to become their own therapist and can adapt the strategies learned to a variety of life experiences.
My approach to therapy is to work together with the client ensuring we are working towards goals agreed in session. I assess each client on an individual basis and develop a treatment plan that is shared with the client throughout. Goals are then agreed, however these goals can be adapted and changed dependent on the person’s circumstances and needs.
Across my career as a therapist I have worked in a number of different settings; I worked in an inpatient setting with individuals who experienced complex mental health issues as a result of trauma and I also worked in the prison service for 5 years with individuals to help with move forward and enable them to develop coping strategies when struggling with Depression and Generalised Anxiety Disorder. I have also worked in the community as a CBT Therapist working with individuals who have suffered with trauma and present with a variety of mental health issues ranging from Depression, PTSD and OCD. I have also delivered group sessions of stress control and wellbeing workshops.
